After the solar explosion that destroyed the ozone layer, rising temperatures destroyed most of life on Earth. Finch Weinberg is a mechanical engineer who lives with his pet dog Goodyear and supports robot Dewey, day after day struggling to survive in the midst of sandstorm hell. When he realizes his condition is worsening, Finch sets out to create an intelligent robot Jeff in the hope that it will replace him in the care of Goodyear. In the midst of the dying world, a warm picture of friendship is gradually drawn.
